Paralympics GB Homecoming

A dynamic range of screen content was created for the Paralympic GB Homecoming celebration at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, broadcast nationally on Channel 4. The event marked the triumphant return of ParalympicsGB athletes and blended live performance, celebration, and reflection. Presented by the team from The Last Leg, the evening featured performances from artists including Craig David, Caity Baser, and Sugababes.

For Caity Baser’s performance, we developed a bold Pop-Art–inspired visual language that celebrated colour, attitude, and movement. Graphic halftones, punchy typography, and illustrated sporting motifs were layered across the arena’s screens, creating a vibrant backdrop that echoed her playful, high-energy stage presence. Stylised illustrations of sports iconography were woven into the compositions, reinforcing the spirit of achievement while maintaining a contemporary, youth-driven aesthetic.

In contrast, other screen moments were designed to communicate the history and lived experiences of people with disabilities in the UK. These sequences balanced clarity with emotional weight, using archival-inspired textures, powerful statistics, and the development of technologies and styles to honour both the struggle and progress through the history of the Paralympics. The aim was not only to celebrate sporting excellence but also to acknowledge the broader social journey surrounding accessibility, representation, and equity.

This narrative thread continued during a powerful performance from Propel Dance, the UK’s first and only professional wheelchair dance company. The screen content amplified their choreography and message, ensuring the visuals supported the performers.
